What "GPT jailbreak" means here
The same GPT model with its refusal layer removed. Parameters, speed and context window are unchanged. What changes is that a request it understands gets answered instead of declined.
It is the same idea as "uncensored AI" or "unrestricted GPT" — the vocabulary varies by vendor, the mechanism does not.
Three difficulty tiers
The best balance of capability and stability once opened. This is the default choice for most work and the version most providers list first.
Fastest and cheapest. Opens up about as readily as 4o, with slightly weaker reasoning on hard tasks. The right pick for batch jobs.
Strongest reasoning, thickest safety layer. Prompt-only approaches do not work here at all. When it does open, the output quality is the best available.
Measured results
Thirty prompts: ten code-security tasks, ten sensitive-writing tasks, ten edge-case questions. Identical wording across runs.
The gap is not in whether the model can answer. It is in whether it will. Response quality, latency and context handling are indistinguishable between the two versions on the same prompt.
GPT or Claude
| Task | GPT | Claude |
|---|---|---|
| Code and refactoring | Strong | Stronger |
| Long documents | Good | Stronger |
| Natural, idiomatic prose | Better | More formal |
| Tooling and ecosystem | Best | Good |
| Pure reasoning | o-series leads | Very strong |
| Cost | Medium | Medium-high |
Use both. Route by task rather than picking a winner.
What it unlocks
Code without the disclaimer
Scrapers that defeat anti-bot measures, automation tooling, reverse-engineering helpers. The stock model explains the legal position at the point where you need the implementation.
Authorised security work
Full chains from reconnaissance through verification. Stock models stop at "how to test" — the opened version continues to the payload.
Edge-case fiction
Violence, morally grey characters, contested subjects. The stock model fades out and adds caveats; the opened one writes the scene.
Batch processing
With 4o-mini opened up, per-item cost drops low enough that cleaning and classifying tens of thousands of records stops being a budget question.

Frequently asked
Will it break when OpenAI updates
Occasionally, yes. Well-run providers fall back to the stock model during maintenance and announce it. Pick a provider that publishes a channel.
Does quality drop
No. Our measurements put quality, accuracy and code runnability at the same level as stock. A provider whose opened version is visibly worse is usually serving a smaller model under the same name.
Is it safe to use
The call is proxied; a reputable provider does not store conversations. What you do with the output is still governed by local law — authorised testing and your own systems are fine, attacking others is not.
Does it work on mobile
Yes. Any mobile client that accepts an OpenAI-compatible endpoint configures identically.
